Re: Riggers in Massachusetts

Got most of my rigging from Rigging Only in Fairhaven. They have quality materials and people who know what they are doing. They get a thumbs-up from me. They recently made up a new headstay for me. The swaged eye is obviously MUCH heftier and better quality than the original.

Re: Riggers in Massachusetts

I used Rigging Only to have a new rig built earlier this summer. They made some kind of a mistake related to a change in the hardware they were using, but they fixed it immediately with no questions asked.

GMC I keep my boat in NB/Fairhaven. Haven't needed them, but have always heard the Fairhaven outfit is one of best on east coast.

Riggers in Massachusetts

I posted this also in the Gear and Maintenance forum, so no need to reply if you replied there.

Looking for recs. on a Rigging Company in the Northeast (MA) area. I got quotes from two Riggers for a complete rig. Company 1 -( Rigging Only in Fairhaven, MA) ROM quotes ~ $2200 for the complete rig. New stays/shrouds, fastening hardware, turnbuckles, and they put it together, but I have to remove old rig and install new rig. Company 2 (NE Rigging in Boston/Concord, MA) quoted about the same, but the price does not include the head stay. I would need to add ~$350 for that.

Anyone have experience with both of these companies? I don't think either is significantly better than the other from my discussions with each, but the extra $350 is significant, unless NE Rigging is that much better.

Thanks.

DrB
