Re: NiftyNickers is for sale

Hi Diane/Chuck,

Happy New Year. Will be in touch after the vacation and Holiday dust settles next week. Looks like we might be neighbors.

Re: NiftyNickers is for sale

To All,
Yes NiftyNickers is still for sale. She is hibernating for the winter under cover and almost impossible to find without a guide. We did indeed sail her often this past summer and will again nest season until someone buys her.Since we are not cruising and living aboard I've had the opportunity to do quite a bit of maintenance and she's looking pretty good for an older girl.
The hurricane did cause significant shoaling in Cheesequake Creek which is where Morgan Marina is located consequently we have to time our sailing to have sufficient depth under the keel.Good thing it's external lead.We may have to relocate to another marina for nest season.
There are some better pix and an equipment list.

Happy New Year to all,

Re: NiftyNickers is for sale

I saw Nifty Nickers on the For Sale board today while touring Morgan Marina. Couldn't find her before darkness. Is she still for sale?

I'm just dreaming of getting a boat again and doing some serious cruising. Inspired by a friend that's reached New Zealand from San Francisco in a PSC 37.

Re: NiftyNickers is for sale

Hi all,

Thanks for all of your comments about NiftyNickers and my intention to sell her.
Yes Tempest I thought that we were sailing the same waters and thanks for the invite,I may very well take you up on that offer. There have been several people that have expressed interest in her but no serious buyers yet,but of course the weather has been terrible here and she's still not ready to be inspected by a buyer. The PS factory is at this time building a new rudder for her as the shaft was bent by 3 weeks of lying on her side.Fortunately the factory still exists unlike many builders over the years.I do intend to stay with this forum even after she's sold and perhaps contribute something occasionally.
Good luck to all,

For the rest of you folks Morgan Marina is in Sayreville NJ.on Raritan Bay near PerthAmboy,NJ.
Chuck, I thought so, I think we waited in the pond for the bridge opening together once. I'm so sorry to hear that she suffered damage. She's a beautiful vessel. No doubt, someone will scoop her up and care for her. A few years ago it might have been me. I do hope to see you out there again with your next vessel. If that takes time, you're welcome to sail with me anytime.
I'm just next door.

Re: NiftyNickers is for sale

Dear Chuck and Dianne. I can well understand your situation but still I am SO sorry to hear that Sandy was the straw .... Somebody will get a fabulous deal on a wonderful boat which we all know you have kept in wonderful condition.

Like others I always enjoyed and benefited from your posts here. I hope that you stay on the board even as NN finds a new home.

all the best, Jay

Re: NiftyNickers is for sale

Thanks for all your good wishes-it tears my heart out to sell her but logically it is the right thing to do.We are not going to utilize her as she should be used.Sort of like having a range Rover to drive to the mall--doesnt make sense.I really believe that we are not owners of these boats but caretakers for the next generation of adventurers. She's much tougher than I am and will be blasting to windward long after I'm gone.Ready for the next adventure,

Re: NiftyNickers is for sale

Sorry to hear...I was in CT with Boat/US for the first two weeks after Sandy, then was sent down to the Mystic Islands and Long Beach Island areas for the remainder of my 'tour.' Good luck with the sale.
