Jackie,

We are no longer in the area. We agree with your assessment. Sailing in the lowcountry/Savannah is very limited. Primarily power boaters.

Re: Crew wanted Savannah GA

I know I am quite a bit late responding to this post, but thought I would answer just in case. I have some experience sailing, but not much. I have my ASA 101 certification, but have no real access to boats so have not had a lot of opportunity to practice my skills. The good news is that means I don't have a lot of bad habits to break! LOL I love to learn about sailing and think I am a fairly quick study, so if you have time and some patience and still need help crewing for races, let me know. If not, I understand, no biggie.

Like you said, to me it feels like sailing in Savannah is dead. I am having a hard time finding boats to crew on or even rent, and I don't feel like I have enough experience yet to buy my own boat. So if you or anyone else has any suggestions as to how to get me out on the water, I would very much appreciate hearing them! Thanks!

Jackie

Sailing is not dead in Savannah, it has just gone skiing in Park City, Utah for the winter. My wife and I will return to our home in Beaufort, SC in May and would enjoy sailing/racing in Savannah. We have sailing/racing experience while living in Maine and belonging to the Portland Yacht Club. You can contact us at ream dot bill at gmail dot com to discuss.

Crew wanted Savannah GA

Crew wanted for club races, sailing experience a must but we can break you in on racing if need be, or if you are good vice versa! O'day 34, competitive boat in great shape plus lots of beer drinking.
