Who knows? My reply was for anybody that has a similar problem too, sharing ideas brings resolution to people in similar situations that never considered out of box answers. We expand our collective sailing knowledge and awareness by passing forward info from a 10000 year old fraternity.

Re: Seeking Trailer to Rent

I agree with Lake Soup sailor;
cradle carry is a great idea, then buy a $1-1500 good used carhauler at start
and sell carhauler at the end of the trip. Popular seller everywhere or just keep it for a lot of uses. If you don't have a cradle, make one bolted together with x bracing (bridged) bracket and a set of multi plywood pads covered in soft carpet remnants. I used adj house lift poles for basements (pads screw up to meet hull)
Strap* boat to cradle and strap* boat to trailer. Mark your brackets to disassemble/reassemble and use cradle at haulout/bottom jobs every couple of years?

* strap = 2" wide (minimum) 10k lb ratcheting type, drive without worry type

Re: Seeking Trailer to Rent

If you have a cradle you can slide the boat & cradle on a car trailer and haul it. Just use comealongs to secure it , not that hard....Dale

Seeking Trailer to Rent

Does anyone know where I can rent a trailer for a 26' fixed keel Columbia that I need to move from Detroit to the Annapolis area this February or March. Thanks!
