Yes, we are right in the middle of the Dungeness Crab season. They should be available fresh in your local markets now. In my opinion they are much better than lobster

Through whole route there was full with crab traps, so i supposed they catch some of this.

Enjoyed the pictures . We sailed out of Sausalito for ten years. Not to rain on your parade, but even on a calm day, which it looks like it was, your delivery skipper took a VERY dangerous route through what used to be called the "south channel", no longer on the charts, ESPECIALLY during winter months. Just curious, was the line caught in the prop just free floating or was it attached to the boat?

I was gonna say the black stern line on the rail looked like an accident waiting to happen. Still, mighty envious of your adventure. Looks like a nice boat and a good trip to season on.

The water explode!

iPad navigations*

It looks like this boat will be smashed on the rocks just in few minutes! Just few seconds before calling USCG, this guy fixed his sails and go away from the rocks.

My Captain*

Navigation and AIS monitoring

Finally*Santa Cruz. This was the my end point of this "whole life remember" sailing.

Captains continue to San Diego next 4 days. Near Santa Barbara, day catch some rope on*propeller, but thank god, everything was ok.

I hope you enjoy the pics and the story

From Sausalito to Santa Cruz - Jan'12 - pics heavy

January 2012 i was on a business trip in SF and good friends of mine offered me to join their sail form San Francisco to San Diego. They are delivery captains (San Diego Captains) and have to deliver a Jen 40. Unfortunately i can join them only to Santa Cruz.

I was very excited. This was my first touch with boats and sailing.

At 05:00 we find the marina.

And the boat. Quick checks. LPG valve not working..

Getting*on-board*all the*luggage.

Without heating in winter ocean is not very*comfortable.

Nope, problem is not here.

Ok they found the issue. And fixed

5-6 days sailing needs good grocery shopping.

Ready to go.

Some floating houses.

I like Captain's office.

Heading to Alcatraz and San Francisco's piers.

Golden Gate.

Heading to Bay Bridge.

Under Bay Bridge we turn a round and heading to Golden Gate and Ocean.

Me, still smiling.

end of part 1.
