Re: Galley Cook Stove Replacement

My new Seaward stove has 3 burners and an oven. I ordered the one with the black finish. The cost delivered to the marina in Point Roberts Washington USA is just a few dollars under $1500.

Re: Galley Cook Stove Replacement

May I ask how much you paid for the Seaward stove and how many burners? I'm thinking of changing my stove and looking for options. Tks!

Re: Galley Cook Stove Replacement

Thanks for the input. . . I have ordered a Seward stove, same make as the original. As the original lasted 30 years I should be able to expect 30 years from the new one. The measurements for the new one are similar to the old one so I hope that it will just drop onto the gimbals without any modifications. I think the RV stove would have worked, I looked at one, it was pretty nice but they are designed to be built in, unfinished on the sides and back. It would have meant doing some modifications to cover the sides and install a gimbal fitting. I decided it would be easier ( not cheaper ) just to buy a new one from Seaward.

Re: Galley Cook Stove Replacement

I have an RV stove in my boat, but don't know if I want to use it, see my post about 'stove heat'. It was replaced by PO, and I'm sure it has a higher BTU output.

Re: Galley Cook Stove Replacement

I'm not sure whether all RV stoves have thermocouples on each burner but any marine stove will. Ant surveyor will look for this.

The better marine stoves (Force 10, Dickinson and others) are all stainless so will last longer.

Galley Cook Stove Replacement

The oven temperature control on my 30 year old stove has given up and no replacements parts are available. I can get a new stove for RV use at half the price of one from a Marine supplier. Any reason why I should not consider this as a viable option ? ?
