Nordic 44

I found an architects scale ruler and it does look
Like about 62.5 off the plan. I like the broomstick idea to get close on the extensions. Looks like I will have room for ICW bridges if I don't go outside next fall to the South. I had never heard of a Nordic until the broker brought it to me. Great lines and numbers. Can't wait to get to know her.

says that bridge clearance is 62.5 feet.. pretty much in line with your thinking...
I love these boats, as I do most of Perry's work, it's just a shame not that many were made.

Better yet, duct tape a broom stick marked in 1' intervals to your halyard, attach a downhaul and haul the halyard up it up so that the broomstick extends above the top of the mast. Then you can eyeball how high the antennas/etc extend above the mast using the marks. Measuring with a 100' tape down from where you attached the broom stick to the halyard will give you good measurement from the highest point of your boat to the cabin top deck then you can get a measurement from there to the water to get a really accurate measurement of your air draft.

Thanks. I am 875 miles away from it in the cold Midwest. I wondered if another owner had the info. Will do in April when she's back in.

I am looking at the sail plan drawing of a newly purchased 1987. It shows the stick is 64' long to the keel step. So subtracting 2' ( DWL to End at keel) gives a 62' height above DWL. So, not counting the height of antennas/wind gear can I assume that is accurate for Bridge height purposes? Any Nordic owners out there?
