Hi M Stauffer,

Following all the advices, I opened the Engine Control Panel Cover and discovered the DC power supply wire was wrongly connected by the ex owner technician, i had rectified the fault.

Many thanks for all the advices received.

Does your Yanmar panel have a three position switch on the upper right hand corner ? I think that switch is used to turn on your gauge lights , check that is in the correct position !

Re: Yanmar inition switch Lightings

Hi Marcusc,

Thanks for your quick advice. Yes, the three indicator lights are for battery charging, water temp and oil pressure. I fully agreed that the system should be operated as what you mentioned. As I have told Faster that I am concerned if the Key Switch is obsolete. Will start looking for spares now.

Re: Yanmar inition switch Lightings

Hi Faster,
Thanks for the swift response. Everything is ok but only the key switch hole is loose. I hope I could find the Key Switch spares if I need it as this boat is Manufactured in 1995.

Yanmar inition switch Lightings

If I remember the panel from my old boat correctly, the three indicator lights are for the charging circuit, oil pressure, and water temp. When you turn the key on, the charging and oil lights should come on, and go off when you start the engine. If all three are on, even with the key off, I would say that there is most likely an issue with your key switch. That would be the easiest and cheapest place to start I think.

Re: Yanmar inition switch Lightings

Sounds like a wiring or switch issue... does everything else run OK?

Yanmar inition switch Lightings

Hi, i need help and adcice.
My boat Yanmar engine 2GM control panel indicator Lightings will not on when I turned the ignition key, But these three indicator Lightings on the engine panel will be on even I switch off the engine.
In order to save battery energy, i have to turned off the battery selector completely. Is this the switch defect or other issue. I will appreciate your advice Thanks.
