I love the last comment ďWe were going to have our grandchildren with us that day. I guess we were lucky.Ē Really? That would be like me deciding I want to go fly a helicopter with my daughters and I think I can do it because I saw someone do it on YouTube. Stupidity of people never seems to stop amusing us. And how dare the rental agency for charging them for recovery..

Back in the day this was Mother Natures way of cleaning up the gene pool.Apparently it hasn't worked for several generations.

I totally agree with the tone of the article and the comments about personal responsibility. But I'm still surprised that they rented a sailboat to someone without more evidence of ability. In SF Bay, you can't charter a boat that size without at least Basic Coastal Cruising or equivalent on your sailing resume.
