S/V CARMEL: Two steps forward,-- one step back! @ Sail Blogs

We spent the week waiting for our davits to arrive from California, spent the day installing them with our friend Mike, and when we went to raise the dingy and motor out of the water one of the stainless steel davits folded over! Needless to say we are BUMMED OUT! I was so frustrated I spent the next hour washing down Carmel! We still hope to work things out with the mfg., and continue on to Ft Lauderdale this weekend! (It's been a beautiful week weatherwise 85' and sunny!!!) Went swimming at Miami Beach, fishing in Biscayne Bay,--finally TWO fish, but too little and I sent them back to grow up. Also visited The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables and The Viscaya Mansion here in Miami! So, waiting wasn't all that bad!!! Direct Link
