Post What is OnBoard? @ Sail Search Blog

http://www.yachting.org.au/default.asp?MenuID=Clubs and Classes%2F6%2F0%2CThe OnBoard Program%2F10559%2F0%2CWhat%5Fis%5FOnBoard%3F%2F106 12%2F0 Want to get involved in promoting the sport of sailing in Australia? If so, then have a look at the OnBoard program of Yachting Australia, there is a wealth of information concerning the OnBoard program on the web site. From the web site: For years I'd had a keen interest in sailing, but never found such a warm welcome to the sport than that offered by the 'on-board program. Let's face it ... having no experience whatsoever I was probably more interested in the latest GANT apparel and trying to look like the guy in their catalog than I was in a halyard or a spinnaker. OnBoard is a program which has been initiated by Yachting Australia and the Australian Sports Commission, and provides a structure to help clubs increase their membership. Becoming part of OnBoard is easy and free! All Australian clubs need to do is sign up as an OnBoard Partner Club, and they will get access to all the facilities to enable the club to get OnBoard. The OnBoard program is about getting more people involved in the sport of sailing, and keeping them sailing and active as club members for life. Some of the benefits of becoming an OnBoard participant include: 1. Access to a range of benefits and discounts offered by our benefit partners: Hertz, Hewlett Packard, Mortgage Force, Intercontinental Hotels and YAFFA publications. 2. Information from Yachting Australia, your MYA and Club on finding the right type of sailing experience and contacts. 3. An OnBoard Membership number to access the MySailor facility on the Yachting Australia website where participants can manage their personal information and search for information about OnBoard providers and their activities. 4. MySailor also gives participants the ability to nominate clubs with whom they would like to correspond. 5. The Yachting Australia e-news which provides the latest information from the yachting world and important information for Yachting Australia Members and OnBoard participants. OnBoard is affiliated to the ISAF Connect to Sailing initiative to introduce one million new participants to the sport of sailing in the next ten years. Direct Link
