LRIT ?GIVES NO NEW POWERS TO COASTAL STATES? (Maritime Global Net)

IMO says new regulations on Long-Range Identification and Tracking of ships (LRIT), adopted recently by its Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) do not extend the existing rights of coastal states over ships sailing off their shores.
