High seas: Rough conditions make for a challenging start to race (Stamford Advocate)

As captains checked in for the 72nd annual Vineyard Race at the Stamford Yacht Club yesterday, officials and sailing crews kept an eye on Tropical Storm Ernesto. Outside, the sky was gray and the harbor calm, but a few hundred miles to the south, Ernesto was churning up waters off the Carolinas.
