Blind sailors compete in Rhode Island regatta (WPRI 12 Providence)

NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) -- Sailors from around the world are competing today in a Newport regatta for the blind. The 2006 IFDS Blind Sailing World Championship starts today and runs through Wednesday in Newport Harbor. A blind helmsman steers the boat and another blind crew member trims the jib.
