Roger Federer and Andy Roddick rode big serves to three-set victories in opening matches Sunday at the season-ending Tennis Masters Cup. Federer rallied past defending champion David Nalbandian 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 before Roddick defeated Ivan Ljubicic 6-4, 6-7 (9-11), 6-1 in the other Red Group match.
