MANILA, Philippines -- Charlie ?Atong? Ang?s request for a short jail term in exchange for his confession of his role in the alleged diversion of P130 million in tobacco excise taxes to President Joseph Estrada in 1998 encountered rough sailing at yesterday?s pre-trial proceedings.
