Race crew in peril off Northland coast (TVNZ)

A rescue effort has been launched to save 13-crew aboard the yacht V5, sailing in the Round North Island race. Maritime New Zealand received a distress call from the boat about 1am on Monday off Northland's west coast after the yacht hit something hard, badly damaging the keel.
