Richard Gress of Sarasota -- he's the muscle behind the Bird Key Yacht Club's hosting the Sarasota Bay Cup -- put Friday's 20-mile race from St. Petersburg to Bradenton away in convincing fashion. Gress and crew, sailing in Racer/Cruiser 2 on Gress' O'Day 40, Mother Ocean, won their class in Sun outright and also on corrected time.
