Authorization for Badger's coal ash expires, leaving sailing outlook cloudy

As expected, the federal authorization for the SS Badger -- a historic, coal-fired vehicle ferry that crosses Lake Michigan while dumping tons of coal ash into the water -- expired Wednesday, leaving the vessel's future in doubt.
