Westerbeke W 27 Alternator upgrade

Hello all
my first post on this new forum

Has anyone upgraded to a ~ 100 amp alternator ?
How many belts did you drive it with ?
How did you attach it to the engine so the pulleys lined up ?

Put 105 hot alt on 27. One 3/8" belt. Completly inadequate. Ordered another water pump pulley from westerbeke took it along with my original to machine shop to have welded together. took new Dual belt alt. pulley also to get proper spacing. Took crank pulley and they were supposed to make new pulley to bolt on to original. instead they made a complete dual crank pulley. Max belt life with one belt 50 hrs. as little as 5 hrs. 600 hrs guatemala and back on original belts and still usable. Phil
