New owner of a 6.1

I've tried to PM Southron Spirit about some Galley information, but until I have enough posts I cannot send PM's. Oh well. So here is what I was trying to send...

Hello,
I ran across an older thread about you removing your galley. I've recently purchased a Spirit 6.1 and it is missing the galley. It has the track in the starboard berth and i would love to source an original galley with the tank, sink and stove, or any combination. If you have one, or know of one, please let me know if you're interested in selling it. I love the boat and have been surprised by its performance.

Thanks
Stephen

Also, as several people have posted, How is the crazy pop top supposed to work? I am missing some hardware and need to fabricate some stuff so pictures would work wonders. I suppose the boom vang cannot be used with the pop top up.

Anyway, I love this little boat. It is my first sailboat and is a great learning tool for the admiral and myself.

Re: New owner of a 6.1

Thanks, I tried to reply to your PM but I still don't have enough posts to be able to. I'd like to see your galley and if you have a pop top I'd love to see the hardware and how it works. I'm missing some hardware and need to fabricate some. You can email me at transporter2112 at gmail (I can't even post my email address apparently) if you wish.

Thanks again

I have a Spirit 6.5 with the pop up top. There is a metal tang on the forward edge of the top that attaches to a tab that is in the mast track. There is a screw knob lock below the tab for positioning the top at different levels of raise.

Have removed my galley as it was in pretty sad shape from previous owners. Needed the space for life jackets and cushions. Use a Jet Boil stove from REI and a stern mounted grill for cooking needs. I sail in New Mexico.

Re: New owner of a 6.1

I don't have a galley, but it's perhaps one of my previous posts about the pop top you saw. I can tell you that after some research, I learned I could make use of some of the same hardware used by Catalina for their 22. Might want to check out the Catalina Direct website. I'd post a link, but I, like you, have too low of a post count.
