Re: so whats the least amount of wind you have sailed a spirit in?

I have been in winds that barely moved the flags on the poles in the marina. It was very slow going, but eventually I made some headway. Generally if there was a 5 knot wind I was more than happy to go out. Even 3 knots got me going well enough to enjoy myself on the water, but for me it is more about relaxing on the boat than going fast all the time.

I also have a 130 Genoa. It needs badly replacing too, as does my main :(

I have a 150% genoa that can be reefed to 130%. I've used it in 5 knot winds but I wouldn't go out in anything less than that. Rain is something else that keeps me land locked. I'm a fair weather sailor for sure.

I often go out in winds 5kts through 15kts, but prefer 7 and above. Less than 5 or over 20kts is not worth it. I sail a 23K.
