Speaking of One Mile, I spent part of the Australia Day weekend there this year, it's a very small Anchorage unless you have access to the moorings. Also very rocky with the ferries/water taxi's coming and going all the time.

I havent been there for about 9 yrs. It was busy then - must be worse now. Do you stick to Moreton Bay ? Its not far to either the GC, Yamba or Wide Bay

Apart from long weekends, I am usually limited to day trips, where ever I can get to and back from Victoria Point in 4-5 hours (about the wife's limit, she's new at this and finds it stressful but is getting better)

Long weekends (Australia Day and New Years, so far) we did over nighters, biggest problem here is the small cabin on the tri is tight for 4, even though the kids are still youngish. I will need a bigger cabin (boat) before we could go further than an overnight trip.

Yamba or Wide Bay, That's an outside trip, wife and kids not ready for that yet, don't want to push the issue to hard, they are still scared that boat will sink and they'll all drown, though they are over coming that fear, I'm not going to consider an off shore trip till they're emotionally ready.

GC, well we spent new years eve at slipping sands, thats getting down towards gold coast. That was our first overnight stay and much more comfortable than One Mile. Only problem was finding some sand banks which made me glad I chose a Tri.

Well, you could spend a lot of time just exploring the bay.
However, If you got a little further than the slipping sands, and get to either Tipplers, Bums Bay or near Paradise Pt for example, you guys could enjoy the GC lifestyle for the cost of an anchorage! Flat water and shallow so little chance of scaring anyone. It just extends Moreton Bay.
Anyway, its a beautiful part of the world just where you sail.

we are planning another trip down to "The bedroom" / Tipplers, will be a family affair with my mum and step dad as soon as he is well enough after his operation.

Dave.

When are you planning this?
We are thinking of using Tipplers for a week or so in last week of april. Be great to catch up.

Hey Chall,
hows it travellin?

Peel's ok but full of people on the weekend. The wallopers have also ruined it a bit. The water rats have a landing barge with huge outboards on it and mosey through the anchorage daily, then off at the plane.

I think I'll just go straight to Mooloolaba then up to Wide Bay for a few days. Less people, more sailing.

What you up to?
