New Engine Suggestions

My old O'Day 30 has a YSB-12 that I rebuilt. Runs well but it is only 12hp and having one cylinder rattles my eyeballs in their sockets at idle. One day I may return this boat down to the coast and would like twice the power to make it through some of the cuts on the ICW. Any recommendations for a common YSB-12 replacement? What is the best used diesel pick out there around 20 hp considering cost, reliability / reputation and parts availability? Would consider rebuild of an engine...

Re: New Engine Suggestions

I have a 75 Hunter 30, also with a YSB-12. I am replacing it with a 2GM20F I got off if ebay. You can check footprints with the Yanmar specs available on many websites.
Do note that the prop rotation is reversed. At least it was in mine. Good luck.

Could the 26 O'Day get away with a 20" shaft?
