Question for O'day 40 owners
I sold my O'Day 302 2 years ago to someone who made me an offer I could not refuse. Anyway, I am looking at an O'day 40 that is up for sale and wondered if any current or past O'Day 40 owners might have some tips for me as I consider this boat. Please feel free to email me off-line if desired.
Thanks in advance.

ODay 40 owners
You can go there, you can go the Oday email list on this site, Odayowners at Yahoo, and a few other places. Major problem we had with the 40 we bought in August, 2005, was that the bottom was blistered. Wangled the cost of redoing the bottom out of the cost of the boat. We also had some tired wiring around the engine and VERY tired fresh-water cooling hoses, which we replaced. Also replaced the sails, which were original 1989. Added a Mack Pack and a couple of other trinkets. Have to go aloft (not me, but someone will) to replae the anchor light bulb and the deck light bulb. Anyway, depending on what you want her for, we have had a wonderful time. We have the shoal keel, which the drawing shows as pulling 5'1", but is more like 5'6", there is loads of space, ours came with AC and micro and Adler Barber refrigeration, and so far, so wonderful. If you any specific questions, there are several 40 owners on the email lists.
