Have you looked under the keel?

On the forward area of the keel on either side of the CB slot you will find metal plates. These may be covered by bottom paint.Remove the screws and the CB should drop down. Be sure and catch and save the nylon bearing wedges that also drop down.

The screws on mine were so covered with paint I thought it didn't have any... Boy was I surprised! Glad I dropped it out though, the nylon spacers were just about completely gone. Got a new set and now everything's just fine again. I replaced the line too and doubt I'll have to do it again for several years.
Be careful, it does weigh a bit!
