Age from our oday22?

Hey there,

for the first, sorry for my awful "schoolenglish".
I´m from the coast of the northsea in germany and i bought an oday22.
Now we have some trouble with the old owner and i have to find out the age of our boat for one thing. He says it is build in 1978. The boat has no "window" in the front, you know? And the serialnumber is "XDYJ07250573". Can somebody help us?

Greetings from germany

Chris and Anne

You can try the following link for deciphering HIN numbers.

XDYJ07250573

I read that as XDYJ (builder) 0725 (hull number 725) built in 05 (May) of [19]73.

Not 78, but 73. Mistaking 3's for 8's and vice versa is common, do make sure your HIN number doesn't end in an "8" which simply has been lightly stamped or partly filled in by paint.

Not to worry about your English, it is just as good as many natives here in the US.
