Stern Ladder for O'Day 30

I am looking for a stern ladder that folds and swings up for storage. The present ladder is only 36" in length and only extends about 2" into the water making it near impossible to board the boat. Can anyone recommend a manufacturer or source new or used? Thanks.

These kinds of things are usually best made by a custom SS manufacturer.. many riggers offer those services as a side line.

If you get one made that way you can match the transom and pushpit angles, have the ladder fold up so that it lines up with the top of the pushpit, and hinge at a point that gives you 3 steps below the water. If you cut a gateway into the pushpit at the same time you're golden!

I wonder , if your fits the boat well, if you could add a step or two in nylon strapping ,or wood?..Dale

I probably could add an extension but my experience with those things is that they swing in when stepping on them and that would put it into the rudder.

Rusty that's odd.. my boat has the OEM ladder. easily well into the water when it's down. maybe your's is missing the 2nd part that swings down?
This is a few years ago when we were getting her ready for barrier coat.

My ladder looks nothing like that. If I could find one like yours that would be perfect. Wonder if D&R Marine would have one? I will check. I added the teak steps to my rails. Attached a picture...
