Surfesq,
You seem to spend way too much time tending to your posts and sure do talk a lot. We go out sailing just about every day after work, but I do check into here occasionally. Whenever I do check in, there you are posting away. We're heading out this aft to start our sailing sojourn to Edgartown for a week. The offshore forecast is for 15-20 kts - gusting to 30 kts and 5 - 8 ft seas, and I'm salivating about it.

In reality, you're probably just a short, fat & balding, middle-aged wannabe sailor who lost his law Bar some years ago, so you spend most of your time leaning on one, while pecking away on your laptop. You may even be one of those powerboaters you seem to like bashing so much.

Get out there and sail and shut up for a while for cripes sake.

lol....See you are a sailor!

Edgartown is awesome. I love it there. I had a fabulous 4th there three years ago on my boat with my Dad and my daughter. You live in sailing heaven. It's always 15-20 there in the afternoon. I hope you are planning to take the kids(?) to the 4th Parade in Edgartown. it's a hoot.

True I do spend a lot of time plinking away here. But it's usually from my desk at work or early in the morning before I leave. Blame PBooty for antagonizing me. It's fun and I enjoy the give and take. I would note that I see your posts everywhere I go as well. I will keep to you pace from now on! lol.

"short, fat and balding middle-aged wannabe sailor who lost his Bar some years ago." Ouch. Now see that's funny stuff. And you cut right to the bone! lol. I would love to meet you in person and see the look on your face when you look up at me. Sadly, I still have my Bar License.

My weekend is not as glamorous as Edgartown. Saturday and Sunday I am planning to sand the hull on my 41' Sea Wolf that is sitting on the hard. I want to try to prime it next weekend. I will do a series of short sails on Monday and Tuesday over at my familys place on the Eastern Shore. Probably a lot barbequing, hanging at the pool and playing on the catamaran.

I knew you were genuine and was just yanking your anchor chain .

Yes, my wife and I head to the boat every day after work, usually sailing out of the marina to spend the night at our nearby island mooring. After crusing back each morning, I drive to my office to tend to my clients. I'm like you in that regard - with a computer tied to my desk at the office - dreaming of being back on my boat.

The 41 SeaWolf sure has nice lines, but I can understand why it's not wet yet. That boat needs lots of work to stay in presentable shape, with perhaps as much above deck teak as mine. Isn't it similar to a Formosa 41, the boat used in filming Captain Ron? I may have to call you by that name .

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

We have 2 "kids", our youngest and her mate spent the week in Edgartown with us last year. This year however, they won't be joining us - since surf is huge and that's their priority along with other obligations.

As you can see from this photo from last season, she wasn't too interested in watching the parade . . . but we have done so years past. It is a hoot.

You have a very pretty daughter! I am so glad mine is only 5 and I don't have to deal with what must come with having a pretty young lady to manage. However, I will be in trouble because her Mom is very pretty and thankfully she looks like her.
Yes my boat is the same as the Captain Ron boat. They are super comfortable boats and I have always wanted a ketch rig. This sucker needs so much work its nearly daunting. However, I really enjoy projects so I actually relish the opportunity.
Actually I had been discussing on another thread spraying the hull. The question is whether to use the two part Interlux which looks very easy or Awlgrip which is very difficult. Perhaps someone has used the Interlux and can comment on its durability?

I think I remember when my youngest Daughter was five... When ya have eight kids, it's easy to get confused.
