Check out the dog thread under cruising. Who says we are not polite to newbies? Read Valiente's posts. It is the epitome of an informative explanation to an intractable problem of which the owner wishes to hear nothing but what she wants to hear. I could not respond without insulting her. Valiente did so superbly. If she had wanted to take her pony along I doubt I would have been able to restrain myself. Even money says she's insulted anyway, and won't be back.

I really understand the "adrenaline" argument. There is nothing better than being doubletrapped, hell bent to weather on a Nacra 5.8 in heavy air. This winter, I picked up a very slow boat to educate and orient my family to sailing. I am as excited to plow the lake on this boat as I have ever been on any of her faster counterparts, perhaps more so.
