I've still got to finish the mast step work on mine, maybe Thursday. I've been busy looking at bigger boats lately.

What?

I haven't gone anywhere. It's just the same tired stuff over and over again on this site and one can get bored very easily with this lot. I had not checked in for quite sometime so naturally I found it quite amusing to see that Panty Boy has become emboldened enough to start posting again.

Now look, this thread was always just about sailing and an opportunity to point out what blow-hards you guys can be on this silly site. (I love the new heading: General Discussion, (related to sailing). That's rich. Only the most feeble minded and the "Sailnet 5-O" went crazy over my content. But that was the best part in my opinion.

As for the barge, long story, not very interesting. But it will be in good hands with someone who has the time and resources to bring it back to new. I just can't do it right now. (I did get in some great sails this winter down in PR).

In closing, as much whining as you all do on this thread, it is still the number one thread in the history of Sailnet! That could only happen if people are reading it. By the way, the fact that this thread just seems to piss people off is what I am particularly proud of.

Hello, Surf, nice to see you, notwithstanding your comments. I for one missed the scintillating repartee of bygone days. Hope you are well and the future is full of success. Care to comment on any of the surmises of your fall from grace?

Prison, Fall from Grace, Scooter Libby? Geez.
None of the above, just bored with Sailnet and I got a promotion at work which has kept me from blogging on this site. The boat really just came down a time/cost/feasibility situation. I just decided to pass along the opportunity to another more ambitious soul. No real story there sorry. But I am sure that won't stop people from speculating.
Incidentally, who was sleeping at the switch when the guy above me got that name?

I guess one can get bored with anything. I for one, find myself checking in with sailnet probably more often than I'm actually sailing. But I think that's okay. It increases my knowledge and awareness of sailing. Sailing is a lifelong thing - once it gets in your blood, it stays with you - even though it may hibernate from time to time. I'm about to sell my boat, but I'll still be a sailor. Actually, I always have my backup boat - a hobie 14.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
