i know those old pearsons are not quarter mile dragsters, but it would slice a catalina in two without even scratching the gel. great in a fowl weather situation too....

there's a guy restoring one nearby. i think when he's finished, i'll buy it. beautiful lines. not a pretty as my old columbia, but a little bigger and roomier below decks....

having a full keel is a disadvantage, but with the beam slightly forward of center, i have the advantage. i can run a 180% in a 25k breeze, close hauled....

a catalina or many other narrow bowed boats would plow like an old farmall tractor in those conditions...

advantage, columbia....

the heavier the wind, the more she likes to play. i got the lake practically to myself after 30k....
