Surf,

Noticed your comment on the Viffer. It aint no "Busa" but its got some pretty good wallop.
Not near as comfortable as your bike (by the by, the local constabulary here inSane Diego have just purchased a fleet of the police version of your model Beemer, tremble in your boots! oh ye speeder scoflaws!). The Vfr does have similar acceleration times to yours and is WAyyyy more comfortable than my Ninja was.

I was heading South down I15 the other day in the showoff lane just barely passing traffic when I see in my rear view a single headlight approaching very rapidly. I think "here comes some doofus kid on his R1, I will move to the right so he can kill himself without involving me". I move to the right and alongside shows up one of the new beemer cops (werent no R1 after all) he slows to my (ahem) reasonable speed, makes a downward motion with his right hand a couple of times (keep it down buddy!) punches it and dissapears into the forground. ahh the camraderie of two wheels! It's almost as friendly as sailors!
LOL!

At least she will be dating men.

Dewey: Yes, its interesting my buddy rides a Honda CBR 1000. Its very quick off the line while the beemer really hits its stride at about 70. From 70 to 120 it blows the doors off the Honda! Good times. We ride out in W. Virginia quite a bit. We have hundreds of miles of really good quality twisties here.

Actually there are a lot of similarities between sailing and bike riding. You know, navigation, particularly in the county...using the wind, speed, acceleration...heeling! The comraderie with your fellow riders. I agree.

John...you are trying too hard...Just be a man. You won't win anyone over by sniping. And stop trying to side with the girls.
Remember the line from Master and Commander when the little first mate who commits suicide comes to the see the Captain over the bumping infraction....Aubrey says...

Ultimately PBooty and Koko will think you are weak and go with Sailling Dog.

Surf,

Twistys, ah yes, mucho here as well. I prefer to do them winter time (very hot desserts and mountains just a few feet from the ocean) during the weekdays (avoiding the legions of death wish kids on the latest 160hp thingy).

There are actually bike / cage wars on Palomar mountain. Sorta the San Diego version of Deals Gap with 500' dropoffs at the hairpins. Enough to give one a nosebleed thinking of it.

Just makes me drool thinking about it. I actually really like riding in the winter. I have turned my buddy onto it. Of course here we use heated gloves, jackets and pants. But its like skiing and the roads are empty...

Its alike sailing on a very windy day. Its funny how no one heads out when its blowing 20 knots.

Good grief....if this actually took effort, it wouldn't be worth the trouble.

I actually know Pashnit.com quite well. I have dug that site for a long time. There is some guy named Bama Rider who is a goofball but who knows a lot of the roads in W.VA and N.Carolina extremely well. The SD site is awesome. As you know when you ride a bike its all about maps...

Here is a bit of interesting trivia. I am watching Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkerban with the Squirrel. When Harrry Potter walks into the Leaky Cauldron there is a witch sitting there stirring his drink with his finger...He is reading "A Brief History of Time" by Steven Hawkins.

How cool is that? I love reading his stuff. Here is one of my favorite quotes that I love to toss around...

"What I have done is to show that it is possible for the way the universe began to be determined by the laws of science. In that case, it would not be necessary to appeal to God to decide how the universe began. This doesn't prove that there is no God, only that God is not necessary." [Stephen W. Hawking, Der Spiegel, 1989]
