Back to Boats!

uhhh...oh yeah....this wasnt a boat thread...was it?

Oh well, much in the news today is the story of the crown jewel of the Princess cruise lines, having had too many Rums and heeling beyond expectations of Captain, crew and passengers. Wait Wait not tooo many Rums but a STEERING problem.

Early reports on CNN had stated the list angle was unknown, later reports were 35 degrees (Yikes!), now I see they are reporting 15 degrees.

So...How many degrees was it?

Anybody know how far this sucker has to list to capsize?

Should one entertain the premise that God exists, and accepts the premise that God created the world, and also accepts the premise that man was made in God's image. Why would one doubt that Science is only revealing the true word of God.

Do you think the people on that Maxi said the following?

"I say Do you have any Grey Poupon?"
"We are heeling.. how unfortunate.."
"Yes, quite embarrassing. The Captain does not know enough to go slow."
"25 knots is just so Nouveaux riche....has he not heard of reefing"
"My God, the cleaning bills for the rail must be outrageous."

Rally Round Boys...

Dr. Stephen Maturin: By comparison, the Surprise is a somewhat aged man-o-war. Am I not correct?
Capt. Jack Aubrey: Would you call me an aged man-o-war, doctor? The Surprise is not old; no one would call her old. She has a bluff bow, lovely lines. She's a fine seabird: weatherly, stiff and fast... very fast, if she's well handled. No, she's not old; she's in her prime.

Surf,

I thought that was Andromeda for a short moment, but then realised the rig was wrong. Thats that new Perini Navi jobbie that was too big to build in their Italy yard and they biult it in Bodrum Turkey. Do you remember it's name?

Hey! You call that dipping a rail???? Geez! you ARE a weenie! LOL!

Hell I was biting my tounge at your get a rail wet routine, because I HATE to slow the boat down (and if the rail is REALLY in the water, you piggin de boat out mon!). And I (old geezer that I am) like to go fast, and so does wifey! That sir is just about the right angle of heel to make that 200+ foot jobbie go like hell to windward.

Oh and by the by, Iv'e chatted up the crews on one or two Perini's and they, to a man, would be hoopin and a hollerin (as long as they were out of the owner's earshot that is). In the presense of the owners party, strictly proffessional. One does not get to a position on a yacht of that caliber without the ability to keep massive cool under any conditions. Out of earshot, they like to partay.

But there he sits, on the boundrys of the physical universe, seeking a unified field. Will his forced introspection provide mankind with the answers which they seek? Tune in next week!

You have to remember Dewey, poor ol' Ernest just goes around in circles out on the Chessie. What else is there for him to do but dip his rail? It's not like he has anything else to dip.

Oh, and Ernest.....the wise man always picks the winning side. I don't need to take the ladies side, they're quite competent on their own. As Conficious may or may not have said.....is best to look in pot before stirring.

PB...your desperate attempts to find an ally are sad and amusing at the same time. Keep it up Dude...People must love reading it. It's just too funny. By the way little man. You have to take the boat out of the slip once in a while to be a sailor.

Dewey:

That is the superyacht that was built for an investment guru. I think you might be right about it being built in Turkey. By the way, I know its not really on a rail. Thank God there is one geezer out there who does is willing to pull in the sails! lol.

I am a little dissapointed you don't like to get wet. Even once in a while for fun? You don't always have to be fast or efficient. And you call me a wheeny? lol.

As for Hawkins...You appear to be somewhat religious..that's cool. I won't go there.
