What brand did you choose for stereo and speakers? Do you use a handheld remote from the cockpit or hard wire?? We installed a digital fm/tv antenna by Shakesphere, it works ok for the tv but we haven't gotten around to putting the fm splitter in.
Ssnead, want to sell a few of those speakers you picked up?? That was hilarious...

10/4 sgal. my boss don't know how easy he's got it. if he had met me when i was a drinking man, ida probably wrung his neck. been cured of that kinda foolishness, so i take out my frustrations here. hell, i missed everybody those two weeks. like the smackerel said, everybodys throwin' underhand softballs i could'a knocked into orbit, an' all i could do was watch in disbelief..........

danger level has always been high when handlin' sooks. take it from a former smith island maryland crabber, now north georgia hillbillie, (don't ask) i'd just as soon be bit by an old rusty jimmie measured six inches between the eyes than a damned hook clawed sook..........

Then by definition I don't sail... 'tis November and for the next 28 days I'll be either in my basement, on my bike or roving. December through March is skiing. March begins cycling again. Not only no rum - no more drinking. No sailing in years, hardly even a realistic dream. I've only sailed four different boats and none over 26 feet.

It clearly doesn't count to think about sailing... and I don't do it in the winter. In fact I don't think about it unless I see water.

Hey guys, Sgirl and others,

Sneadey - I think you need a bigger boat!

S girl, We go very low tech. Saying this I have enough gadgets to go wrong as it is. After soldering up a much shorter HF handset, I hate high tech stuff. Been near enough to a lightning strike a few times to get scared of induced currents.

Splitters will produce noise and reception is poorer & more importantly, HF reception is also poorer. I use low noise fluro's for this reason. The isotherm fridge annoys the HF as well.

We just use an old ipod with FM transmitter to go through the speakers. 1000 songs goes for over a week before repeating. It is very loud and can annoy neighbors (if they try and play C & W or duff duff music or they are just ugly!)

i personally can understand the don't drink part, don't have a problem with that. surfesq, the starter of this "thread of all threads" thread, turned out to be not much of a sailor himself.......

maybe the reason you don't sail much is that there ain't much room to ride a bike on a sailboat..........

if you can talk about sailing and maybe take a swing at one of us in the process, then welcome aboard......

leave yer bike at home........

St Anna-I too am terribly LOW TECH. I finally figured out how to get pictures here- This is my baby- we upgraded the stay sail furler, it was added after these pics were taken. I love sailing jib & jigger! The boom furler is very fickle so if I don't need the main, she stays tucked in. I get the same speed without it-ut oh...here I go racing again...
