It's too funny but if you and Koko turn out to be the same person I'm gonna bring tha pain to all 260 lbs of ya...and I'm only 5-8, 190.

No sailing today, terrible weather up here. I'm amazed that TrueBlue was out and about, it's been cats 'n' dogs downpours all weekend.

No finalists for the new yacht yet. I'm trying to get out on a couple different boots first. Got a ride on a Sabre 28 scheduled this week and as it would happen another guy on that planned sail owns a C&C 29 so I'm gonna buddy up and see if I can get on that one too as those are two possible sailing vessles under consideration right now. I got a closer look at the SJ28 just over a week ago and said, "no thanks". Needed waaaaaaaay to much.

Hey, I think this may be THE most viewed/read thread in Sailnet history!?!?

Most viewed is completely comical! And to think this thread made it to a relatively peacefulo 13,000 before PB and Koko started their little coup. lol
You are in the right area for buying a yacht in my opinion. New England/Maine boats are typically well maintained. The season is also short so the engines have less hours. In my experience of "surfing" for boats on Yacht World, the boats in your neck of the woods tend to be the cleanest. Are you working with a broker? He/She might be able to help you focus on what you are looking for.

Here is a great article about blogging in the paper of record: The Washington Post...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...072200946.html

By the way...I mentioned I cheer for the Nats! And contrary to Fight Club Rules....How about Tiger Woods? I have to admit tearing up a bit watching the highlights of him breaking down. I have always imagined this scenario in the locker room of a PGA event:

Davis Love walks up....."Hi Tiger."
Tiger: "Shut-up Bitch."
Davis Love in a high squeaky voice: "Sorry Tiger"

Ahhhhh what would the Fight Club be without a day or two of name calling, insults, and general bickering. But a weekend day, wow - shut up and sail!

I went out yesterday for a day on the sound. The wind was okay, a bit of light rain - then the boat slowed (wind remained 8-10 knots) to 2-3 knots and the tides (I thought) started pushing the boat all over the place - I was confused and blamed it on lack of experience sailing in the sound. So I decided to come about and head it - I couldn't come about! The boat wouldn't turn into the wind. After several tries and being completely confused, I decided try to jibe and that seemed to work - still the boat was very sluggish and headway was slow. Eventually, I gave in and decided to start the motor. It fired up, put it in gear and it siezed - tried it a few more times and the same thing. Finally, it seemed okay - so I nursed it home anticipating a call to the mechanic and more $$$$$. Upon returning I was talking to a friend who has grown up on the water (owns his 3rd boat at the age of 17!), I described the symptoms and he enlightened me - we were dragging a lobster pot around for half a day! I still need to take a dip and make sure the prop is clear, but I learned a good lesson.

LOL It`s amazing how much line and junk are in the water. My neighbor has a muscle farm that i need to navigate through, the lines run for half a mile and when the tide rises they are held below the waterline so it looks like a straight run in.Fisherman have more political pull than anyone in coastal waters.I can see a neighbor fued in the future, since the borders are supposed to be marked but most can`t be bothered.

I'm confused? Is Esq/Tommy Koko? Is he 260/6'8'"? Is he a lawyer/developer? Does he really own a boat? Has he ever been to all the places he proports? Perhaps he is Koko, PBooty, Beezer, Sonofa, etc. and i am the only other person on this thread that is not one of his many schizophrenic (sp?) personalities. Do I really exist?

I have run into the lobster pots up there and they can ruin your afternoon! But the tides up there also create a wicked current that can stop your boat from making any forward progress.

As for the two knuckleheads....I have received several emails urging me to ignore them. I do think it detracts from the thread which was designed to be a haven from exactly their type. (non-sailors). So we will keep the locker room atmosphere and not engage the goofballs. But if they keep it up I promise I have a really hilarious plan to embarass them.
