While there are many details on climate change that we surely do not know there are many details on those who regard it as a crisis we do know. If your buddy is in the habit of pulling the chair out from under you as you're about to sit down, does it make a difference to you in how you watch him whether you're in your house or his house?

Saunders notes that last week the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission concluded that proposed giant turbines placed under the Golden Gate Bridge would generate power from the bay’s tidal flow at a cost of 80 cents to $1.40 per kilowatt hour. San Francisco’s utility, Pacific Gas and Electric currently charges 12 cents per hour.

Faced with these facts, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom told reporters: “I don’t care about the arguments against it. I care about the arguments for it. It’s a question of subjectivity. If you’re opposed to (the idea of tidal power) or want to oppose it, you’re going to find reasons not to do it. If you’re for it and you believe it’s something that should be done and can be done, then you’re going to find a way to make it happen.”

How do people this frigging stupid make it that high in public office. Peter's Principle is off by a few factors of elevation when it comes to elected office it seems.

Here's a most interesting perspective on the alarmists from the president of the Czech republic:
Climate alarmists pose real threat to freedom | The Australian
A snippet:
"I am afraid there are people who want to stop the economic growth, the rise in the standard of living (though not their own) and the ability of man to use the expanding wealth, science and technology for solving the actual pressing problems of mankind, especially of the developing countries. This ambition goes very much against past human experience which has always been connected with a strong motivation to better human conditions. There is no reason to make the change just now, especially with arguments based on such incomplete and faulty science. Human wants are unlimited and should stay so. Asceticism is a respectable individual attitude but should not be forcefully imposed upon the rest of us."

Washington Post Reports:
Artic Ocean Getting Warm, Seals Vanish, Icebergs Melt

The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consul Ifft, at Bergen, Norway.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers, he declared, all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met with as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm.

Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts, which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

Don't get too excited Sailormitch...I'm not about to agree with you. You see, the date of this story is 11/2/1922.
