If EVERYONE will only draw THAT conclusion then we will not spent hundreds of billions on solving a problem that nobody can quantify or determine exists and instead use those billions for our own good.

Cam- Unfortunately, I don't think we can expect the true believers to abandon their stand on GW even when confronted with scientific facts. Any effort to debunk GW is now seen as a right wing anti environment scheme, to achieve the total destruction of the planet, probably for some unknown filthy profit plan that we are all secretly in on. It's impossible to reason with people that have made up their minds, and won't consider that the data might have been flawed. This is currently, and will continue, to cost us billions.

I didn't follow all the links to see if NASA had an explanation for their manipulation of the raw data. Has anyone heard why? I"m interested and I'm also shocked that these folks don't value their credibility more. In many lines of work, if you don't have credibility, you should just stay home and I would think that would apply to guys in long white lab coats especially.

As I see it, the real tragedy is how long it's going to take to get this nonsense out of the school systems. They've got about a ten year supply of "awareness" materials built up that they're not going to want to go to waste.

You're right about that Sailaway, tell a school kid that you used to be a logger, they'll look at you like to told them you'd been in prison for murder. And this is in the PNW, where every hill is covered in fir trees for as far as you can see (OK, there are a couple of clear cuts visible). It's odd that now anyone can get on the internet and research any topic you can think of easier than at any time in history, and people blindly believe any thing they are told. Strange.

Yeah, I know. You've gotta be careful about using the "L" word. Those school kids don't know much more about where wood comes from than they do hamburger.

Everyone knows that N.W. Loggers get fat eating spotted owls. They give off CO2 though (owls that is. I think loggers give off methane).

Well, you all knew this but I'd just like to make it official like. The fifty thousand deaths estimated to have happened in Burma's cyclone disaster are the result of global warming. There can be no doubt, Al Gore says it's so.
