Let's not forget the new villan on the street.............nitrous oxides....a greenhouse gas 300 times as powerful as co2.............and where precisely have these come from.....oh wait it's that wonderful device the global warming folks brought to us as a cure for automobile emissions the catalytic converter. And exactly how many of these devices have we created (the manufacture of which causes pollution) and installed ( which causes pollution and cost money, automakers and oil companies have to love this mandatory device, it's like free money to them) and as an added byproduct they make our car less fuel efficient (meaning more imported oil and pollution). What a wonderful solution.

And now of course solar and wind power will save the day................has anyone done a study to see how much energy we would have to remove from the atmosphere to make these two replace even half our energy needs.....and exactly what effect would this transfer of energy from the atmosphere to our power lines have on weather patterns?

Jeez, I've been called some bad things in my day but "equivalent to a lawyer defending a child raping mass murderer. No soul only doing it for the money!!!!!" is a new personal low (and where is all this money he's talking about?). Wouldn't want hard scientific facts to stand in the way of your opinion, eh? Oh well, think I'll go sailing before it gets too hot out.

Cheers, John

Hey...this is a great guide to arguing with the "warmers"!
http://joannenova.com.au/globalwarmi...andbook1-4.pdf
This is the stuff that we need to share with those who just accept the conventional media blurbs and never consider that there IS an argument!

When I first started to read this thread, I thought the same as Moon but I did read the thread and all the links and changed my thinking. My son asked me how did we get to this point, the accepted belief that the debate is over. It's rare to find individuals who do not believe in Anthropogenic Global Warming. How have we gotten to this point? Not that it really matters now but the anti "warmers" need to start making a lot of noise. I have sent previous links to my Member of Parliament, who was the Minister of the Environment in the previous government and even if he doesn't retain that portfolio will have considerable power in the new cabinet. I will be sending Cam's recent link as well and I urge everyone to send these links to their representatives. We need our governments to be informed and judging from the postions taken by most politicians on this matter they are not well informed.

I'm curious, how are you so sure of this ? I mean you seem pretty sure.

Ebs001, I think a lot of this has to do with generation. I am getting a little older, and I know I was taught global warming when I hit about 6th grade, from then on through high school. I think parents might be surprised what gets taught in school now, I know I was when I recently read through one of my young family member's school books. No doubt when I am older and this younger generation comes of age, whatever they are being taught in school now will be what everyone's truth will be then. People just hear things over and over enough times I think they just start to believe it no matter if it is true or not. The recent awakening people are having through their stock market experiences is a perfect example - they heard "buy and hold" so many times they just assumed that was the way you did it, they didn't even question if it was the smart thing to do. The television news people just assume global warming is true, like, of course it's true, because everyone thinks it's true, so it must be. Just a few years ago they starting actually giving global warming as a reason for all kinds of weather when it happened, it has become a kind of catch all reason for everything. It wasn't that long ago that people blamed black cats and witches for the world's ills ...

EBS
Congrats on being open minded. That is one of the problems; once you've committed to a concept it's hard to change your stance; especially for a politician...get accused of being a flip-flopper.
Another is having an agenda. Many in the environmental movement are using "any means necessary"; look up snail darter or spotted owl.
Third is money, lots of money. The bandwagon jumpers from many areas are seeing lots of grant money or research money tossed their way IF they tote the company line. Try getting a grant to disprove manmade global warming!

Hysteria sells, especially in the media.

I fully expect we'll be seeing a new reverse hysteria that says we're diving into global cooling. The only thing holding this back is how do they blame modern society so they can still enact Kyoto accord type restrictions on the US.
French leaders actually said the reason for Kyoto is to restrict the US economy. If these folks were serious about polution they would not have given a pass to China & the Aisian subcontinent. It's all about hidden (and not so hidden) agendas.

If you repeat a lie often enough it is perceived to be true, And never let the facts get in the way.
