There is no proof that increased CO2 emissions lead to warming of any serious degree and there is increasing proof that it is not much of a factor. Let's not confuse a pollution argument with a warming argument.
The earth is NOT a closed system like a terrarium where everything is controlled and non-dynamic.
You wanna keep the water clean...you wanna keep coal dust out of the air...I'm with ya. You wanna spend trillions of $$'s fixing a problem that doesn't exist instead of fixing REAL pollution and I'll fight all day long.
CO2 is not the only thing that released from a car - however the analogy is accurate. Take the millions of factories just here that release much more than CO2. Stuff even the press doesn't talk about...

Think about bleach for a second my friend.

Pour a bottle of it on something it doesn't actually effect anything. Add some water (atmosphere) and to a certain dilution level - becomes aggressive.

The big picture is always more indicative of the results than that of one that is soley focused on a micro prediction or result. Throw the puny slideshows and data graphs of one particular statistic to make the statistic work for marketing.. When you have dogs xxxx in your yard and you do not own dogs - does your grass go brown where they did it... I bet it does..

But just because you do not own a dog doesn't mean that you can you prove anything more than some dog **** in your yard. But you can prove that it does eventually kill your grass and eventually it may grow back...

BUt the keyword is eventually, because if every dog craps in your yard and you give up on the cleaning it up - your lawn will die...(proven not scientific conjecture and I do not even need a powerpoint slidewhow to illustrate such)... and we are only talking your yard and dog poop.. dog poop is not known for CO2 emissions btw...

Geez,

Now I'm depressed. Actually, I don't think it's as bad as all that. I think no matter what, humans are especially well equipped to adapt to change. After all, our ancestors made it through an ice age.

Don't be sad, when the ice melts it will increase your cruising grounds

Yeah, but I'll have to spend a lot of money to update my charts, and I'm afraid all those tall buildings will be a hazard to navigation.

Uhm underwater hazards they may be but by then we will be hunting moose... Besides think of the potential in secure moorings where no need to drop 40 foot of chain - you just tie into into the 5th story window ...

souljour2000 is on a distinguished road
FACT: CO2 is causing higher acidity in the oceans which weakens the shells of tiny animals which all plankton feed on...it is already happening and is documented....if this continues then we could destroy the largest chains in the food web...for some of you who might need a hint...this would be bad...

Soulj, 2 points; acidification of oceans has nothing to do with global warming and we are nowhere near the highest levels of CO2 in the earths history. During the times of the dinasaurs CO2 levels were many times what they are today. From the true data global warming causes increase in CO2 not the otherway around an inconvenient truth for Al Gore so he simply lied.

Worth repeating...CO2 increases have always FOLLOWED global warming events throughout history.
