So tell me, what what are you trying to show us with these two different scenes that are shot from entirely different places? Most of us know that glaciers recede and advance in response the ongoing local, regional and global climate warmings and coolings, but to illustrate it, it would be better to show the same scene from the same camera placement.

Same location, same camera placement. The second one is at a slightly more wide angle.

I can see it. And the wider angle makes it even more spooky because it's showing much more area that is toasty. Where is/was that thing?

PS - here's a visual to help the imagination-impaired and overly-skeptical...

Yeah, I can see that, but I wouldn't have said "slightly".

Of course, one could be summer, the other winter.

And 1973 was during a period of significant temperature decline. This was when the climate scientists were talking about another ice age and concocting plans to sprinkle black dust on the polar caps to help melt them.

Some receding glaciers in europe have uncovered human villages from the middle ages.

Still and all, the water sure was warm.

Thanks for the visual. I believe both photos were taken in the summer. In winter the peaks would be snow covered.

It is the Athabaska Glacier - part of the Columbia Ice Fields. I have also been looking for the photos that show how the Ice Fields look from below. They used to come right down to the highway; they have retreated a couple of miles.

The earth changes and evolves

We might have caused the quickening change but all the bacteria that survive will thank mankind. There are no bad guys... we are only doing what our genetic codes ask of us. Just like the buck that pisses on the tree, mankind must move forward, increase population and hope for the best.

So the two photos do not convince me that there is global warming. Before 1300 Newfoundland had grapes, the Vikings called it Vinland do to the plentiful grapes they found there. So has anyone found any grapes in Newfoundland lately? Also Mars has warmed at about the same rate as Earth has, did we cause that or could it be the Sun causing the warming. Sorry but it's all just the religion of manbearpig to me.
