Pappy...
Thanks for bringing up Christy. Actually he is a climate scientist that BELIEVES in man made global warming. He just doesn't believe the alarmist gloom and doom stuff being thrown about OR the EXTENT of the actual warming predicted.

Here is a recent slide presentation he gave.
http://www.directionsmag.com/images/...l_10-17-07.pdf
If you don't want to dredge through everything, I would suggest picking it up at slide 64. He brings an interesting perspective with these two thoughts regarding the DILEMMA OF DOING SOMETHING ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING:

1. The demand for energy is rising and energy is GOOD...supplying a better life for mankind. What is bad about energy is CO2 emissions (setting aside pollutants) since they contribute to global warming in his view.

2. What can be done to reduce CO2 emissions so as to have a MEASUREABLE impact on global temperature in the year 2100.

His answer...not even reducing all tail pipe emissions by 26% AND building 1000 nuclear power plants will affect world temps by even 1/10th of a degree!! So even if you believe in man made global warming, you might wanna question those that would spend hundreds of billions if not trillions of dollars of OUR money in the decades ahead to "fix it". Christy believes only a major tech breakthrough can appreciably change things.
The cartoon at the end of his presentation is priceless!

Maybe if we ignore it, it will just go away like acid rain or radon...don't here much about those two anymore!

Arrow We'll wait...

We'll wait until it's too late...
And look at you guys and say "told ya so!"

Melting polar caps are not enough evidence?
I mean the graphical melt down is increased... Yes, we only kept records back to 19th century but how about the ice core samples? They don't lie...
Science doesn't lie friends, people do!

BTW, thanks to our "advances" we over populated the planet...
We live longer, but the younger pays for the elder... What's up with that?

Hey, sport!
If you read all of the "evidence" it's already too late. Shut down the entire world economy and the oblate spheroid continues to warm regardless. We've already dicked the dog, so some are lining up a bit early for happy hour in an effort to go out both sunburnt and drunk. The only crisis is going to involve keeping the ice-maker running long enough for everyone to get last call.

Scientists lie all the time, particularly when it involves their own food chain. Contrary to outward appearances, scientists are people too, although poor dinner guests.

hey Mert,
If you look at the demographics of China alone you'll see that somewhere in the next 10-20 years that nation is going to be under-going a quite significant population contraction. What's up with that?

The world actually is better supplied with food, using less tilled soil per capita, than at any time in recorded history. We can sustain a substantially larger population than the current one. Many of these people will not be born in Conneticut, leading to decreased representation of that state in the US House of Reps. Now there's yer' crisis, sport.

You global warming believers DO KNOW of course, that the temperature of all the planets in our very own solar system are increasing? But surely you top guy researchers of this global warming incident have looked into this? Yeah that's right. Recent studies have proven this correct. Yes scientists can be idiots and report with false findings but the proof on this one is there.

Two bits of news that came out, last week a report that Antarctica is increasing the amount of ice, the most in 40 years. Last night a report that there is an increase of female research scientist in Antarctica, up to 30 percent. Any connection?
