Dr. Phil and Chuckles are both lacking the hair that came as original equipment. Maybe if I shave my head I will be as groovy as you, chuck. On the other hand, if I had to have anything to do with Oprah I think I would rather stick pins in my eyes.

You don't like Queen Lef-tiva?
Who says I ever had hair. I think Sir, that you presume things about me which you can't possibly know.
God, now I'm channeling Ragnar.

"I dunno Sck, I think your mama's side came here in 1903 as a sleeper cell from Russia (which was not even communist yet)."
No but they did come on a boat. Maybe that explains why I am obsessed with sailing.
On the other hand, Grandma did spend her last few years wandering around in a daze so maybe she was just becoming one with her sleeper cell.

My apologies. You may well have been born bald. But if your hair looked the same as it does now through your childhood please accept my condolences for what grade school must have been like.
And Oprah is a cancer on our society. Women for some reason seem to love her. She makes me want to hurl bricks at the tv. I keep waiting for her to retire but she is too young for that to be a reasonable hope.

He haw,
Parts of my family came over on the Mayflower - so in theory that means,
well, nothing.
Well, it does mean I could run for president.

And on Joe Lieberman? You're right, we dont like him. Thats because he supports President Bush against the Dems and has endorsed McCain for President. Why would we like him if he has gone over to the dark side? Just like you guys didnt like Sen Jeffords after he defected. But in actual fact Lieberman isnt even a Democrat any more. After he lost the primary for the Senate seat he invented his own party and won on that line, not the Democratic one. So he isnt even a Dem now.
And on the Bush dogs, yes there is a group that wants to get them out. In fact it is modeled on the Club for Growth which does the same honors on the Repub side. I think this kind of thing only works in districts which were on the borderline anyway and even then only when there is a strong move toward one or the other party in a particular year. That is why they are so active on the Dem side this year since it looks like it will be a Democratic tsunami in November. Wont that be great?

You associated me with the republicans and apparently have no sense of humor - all in one post.
I think Jeffords stood up for his beliefs, one thing I will always admire.
I also think the only way we, by whom I mean the non-existent independent party who are tired of the swinging back and forth partisan sh*t we see all the time, are ever going to gain any national prominence is to see one side sweep in and make so many assine mistakes (and both parties will and do when in absolute charge of house/senate/pres) that enough of us will stand up, pull out brooms and fix this two party system once and for all.
Donkey's, Elephants and Brooms, nice icons.

20 Questions for Obama
I wonder if any of his supporters can enlighten us how Oprah's candidate would respond?

Crap, number 14 sounds like what I was saying earlier.
Think I better rethink. Nah - that's why I'm independent. I can pick and choose.
I'm not an Obama supporter, my record here shows that but:
As to 16 - voting against the Induced Birth Infant Liability Act, section 10 made it about the money, not the child. It is a flawed attempted law, and the people that wrote it know that.
If they had been SERIOUS about the child they would not have included that stipulation.
Good post PB

I would like to have a candidate I can vote FOR. Rather than one I'm voting against. One who offers common sense solutions, for the areas where government should be involved,and/or a plan for getting out of those areas where it doesn't belong. One who sees government as the servant of the people, not the server to the people.
I don't need eloquence without specfics. Nor charisma without substance. I don't need a new messiah, I need someone that can do the job.
Unfortunately, there is no one running whom I would vote for. Only the lesser of two bad choices.
