Sck...you obviously have confused support for Bush with support for Republican/Conservative principles. Please continue to do so and tell your friends to do the same! We like it when you are complacent!!

"April 16th, 2008
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows John McCain leading Barack Obama, 47% to 42%. The presumptive Republican nominee also leads Hillary Clinton 50% to 40%. For Clinton, those numbers are 42% favorable, 56% unfavorable (see recent daily favorable ratings). Among unaffiliated voters, McCain is viewed favorably by 55%, Obama by 47%, and Clinton by 34%.

That happens every election. Gore, Kerry, etc, city liberals talk to all their friends at the coffee shop, the office, around town, every sign they see is for a Democrat, all the talk shows on CNN and "everything but Fox", all the newspapers they read, blogs, etc ... it all says the same thing! The whole world must be full of Democrats! Then the reality of the actual vote comes in and .. well, it must have been rigged! There's no way Democrats could have lost, everyone that they knew was voting Democrat, there wasn't a Republican to be found anywhere around town!

Keep on thinking we are in 2004 Repubs!! Go for it with John "100 more years of war" McCain. People will really flock to the polls to vote for Mr. "I dont know much about economics" when the recession has just thrown them out of work.

You havent even seen it begin yet, but there is plenty of footage of McCain hugging Bush (literally and figuratively) and it will be everywhere on TV when the general election campaign gets going.

I live in upstate NY and in fact most folks around here are Republicans. And boy are they sick of the guys in Washington. The one thing nobody wants is 4 more years of anything like what we have now.

2 gringos is right. the repubs always sing from the same sheet while the Dems always squabble amongst themselves. But the Dems DO win every now and again - and this is going to be one of those times -

Just check out the results in many of the primaries this year - Even the LOSING Dems got more votes in their primaries than the WINNING repubs. Hard to see how that turns into a republican victory - Mr. Bush has ruined your brand name for while guys - You need a period of time to recoup and free yourself from his nutcase legacy courtesy of Cheney and Rumsfeld.

Cam

Polls are pretty meaningless this far out. It is quite easy to find a poll saying the opposite of the one you found. For example, ABC news had a poll out today saying that Obama is ahead of McCain

ABC News: POLL: Obama Surges on Electability, Challenges Clinton on Leadership

I think you have to take any of these with a grain of salt - especially since the Dems havent even BEGUN to fight against McCain. Once Obama does (and it WILL be Obama) things will start to look different. But really, I dont think polls mean much until after Labor Day when most folks start to pay attention.

Complacent? Just trying to stay happy. Fortunately, nobody cares what I think. So I will just float off on a boat and be relaxed in my delusions if that is what they are. My cousin just asked me to help him move his boat from the Chesapeake to R.I in June - and he has a very nice boat - so I am doing well. The politicians can do what they do - and they will still be at it after all the boats here in the north are back on the hard next fall so I have plenty of time to be complacent.

Hey, if complacent makes me happy who are YOU to burst my bubble? It is too nice a day to be unhappy

Well, I will say this for Democrats this time around - after Gore, Kerry, etc, if Democrats don't win the Presidency in 2008 I'm going to stay well clear of any of my Democrat friends until I am convinced they have finished rioting and looting.
