You must be the only guy I know who doesnt think Angelina J is at least a little bit hot.

And as for health care costs, I actually think it is quite possible that we can do a better job than the French who have both better results and much lower costs than we do at the present time. Actually, they arent alone in that - just about every other industrialized country in the world pays less and has better health outcomes than we do. I have confidence that we can do better but it will never happen so long as we let insurance companies run our system. They dont have our best interests in mind - only their profits.

Here are a couple of things a Dem will do that McCain wont

1. Help counteract the recession with a jobs program aimed at rebuilding infrastructure - roads, bridges, etc. A republican would only cut rich peoples' taxes still more.

2. Start to get us out of Iraq. Yes, it will be chaos. Why? It already IS chaos. And they will have at it when we leave. They will do that if we leave in a year. They will do that if we leave in 5 years. They will do that if we leave in 50 years. The only question is how many US bodies will pile up before we leave. This is not a war that military means can win. McCain on the other hand would stay for "100 years".

3. Get us cheaper prescription drugs. The Canadians already have them. Why shouldnt we? The Repubs have made it clear that drug company profits are more important than cheap medicine for grandma.

I could go on. But there are some answers for you.

"Republicans believe every day is the Fourth of July, but the democrats believe every day is April 15."

sck5,
If you want to argue health care go over to the health care thread for my thoughts on the matter. I don't have the time or patience to rewrite them here. Otherwise just assume that I disagree with you. (hehehe!!)

Glad to see your surrender on the babe front. I was afraid I was going to have dig up that National Enquirer photo of Jolie's butt. The one that I thought was the latest cookbook dedicated strictly to oatmeal when I first saw it in the supermarket checkout line!

Regarding Reagan vs Clinton; you can get a poll to say about anything. You might bear in mind that perhaps the greatest man of the twentieth century, Winston Churchill, was himself tossed out of office at the conclusion of WWII. A more valid point might be comparing the actual accomplishement of the two presidencies. Reagan has a legacy and you hear about it every day. Clinton is still hoping that his wife's presidency will somehow lift his up in stature. He was certainly one of the least effective, least visionary, and least missed of presidents.

The debate the other night was really the start of questioning about Obama's experience level. Now Madame Clinton would like to see that as favoring her own canidacy and it might. But the elephant in the room, in an election where all the canidates are sitting senators, is John McCain. It's going to be very difficult for either of those two canidates to claim more experience than the Republican nominee. The Dems, any Dem, need the economy to get really bad in a real big hurry.
