When forced to choose between his own ambitions and loyalty to an old friend, he chooses himself. Hmmmm.

Well, he did both. First he stuck by his man, then he discarded his 20 year friendship after checking to see which way the wind was blowing.
Also, while Iraq, the environment and the economy are all important reasons to vote one way or the other, those reasons are small potatos in my opinion compared to the influence the president has in appointing justices. A couple of issues like abortion are simmering below the surface and the issues are so polarizing, that they don't really get discussed anymore. And when you start talking about issues like that on principle, there just isn't any room for compromise.
The recent pols I've seen show that the spread between Hillary and McCain is greater than Obama and McCain. How do you think that will come into play with the electablity issue for the democrats? I suspect that's the reason Hillary hasn't backed out and will be the case she'll make to the super delegates. Even though those pols show she's leading, she's the one I would like to see running against McCain. Obama is a big unknown and it amazes me that the people I know that are Obama supporters can't articulate why they are except they are inspired or they want change.
