For those who mistakenly think the trilateral commission is a secret conservative organization, you couldn't be more mistaken. The trilateral commission isn't about political ideology at all. It's about managing world commerce, so as to protect the interests of multinational banks and corporations. The Commission's purpose is to engineer an enduring partnership among the ruling classes of North America, Europe and Asia -- hence the term "Trilateral." Politics is only a tool used to accomplish that objective. Conservatives aren't the only ones interested in wielding that power, as you'll see from the following list of it's more prominent liberal members:
William Jefferson Clinton, Former President of the United States
Dianne Feinstein, Member (D-CA), U.S. Senate
Thomas S. Foley, Partner, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, Washington, DC; former U.S. Ambassador to Japan; former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives; North American Chairman, Trilateral Commission
Richard A. Gephardt, former Member (D-MO), U.S. House of Representatives
David Gergen, Professor of Public Service, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; Editor-at-Large, U.S. News and World Report
Richard Holbrooke, Vice Chairman, Perseus LLC, New York, NY; Counselor, Council on Foreign Relations; former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations; former Vice Chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation; former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Canadian Affairs; former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs; and former U.S. Ambassador to Germany
Charles B. Rangel, Member (D-NY), U.S. House of Representatives
George Soros, Chairman, Soros Fund Management LLC, New York, NY; Chairman, The Open Society Institute
Robert S. McNamara, Lifetime Trustee, Trilateral Commission, Washington, DC; former President, World Bank; former U.S. Secretary of Defense; former President, Ford Motor Company
Madeleine K. Albright, Principal, The Albright Group LLC, Washington, DC; former U.S. Secretary of State
Zbigniew Brzezinski, Counselor, Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington, DC; Robert Osgood Professor of American Foreign Affairs, Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University; former U.S. Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs
In his book The Carter Presidency and Beyond, published in 1980 by the Ramparts Press, Prof. Laurence H. Shoup devotes an entire chapter to demonstrating how the Trilateral-linked Establishment media promoted the presidential candidacy in 1976 of the then-obscure Georgia Gov. Jimmy Carter.) With the power of the commission and its media influence behind him, Carter made his way to the presidency, establishing the first full-fledged Trilateral administration, appointing numerous Trilateralists to key policymaking positions.
You've gotta admit, the world's power brokers sure know how to pick them!

I would only ask about these things or any other, because I respect this group, and I'm sure that I will get some great opinion here. My post #488, is is not to convince anyone of anything, rather me looking for help. I don't quite see how a thread with this name can not have a mention of these things. Is it that both parties are bad in different ways? Democrat/Republican,overt/covert. Both sides are well represented in the Council on Foreign Relations.

If this was all discussed in 2000, why no mention of any of it now? Was it without merit? I was just looking for some input from this brainy crowd.

I wasn't involved in the earlier discussion, but I suspect it's because nobody wants people to think they're a nut case. That's, frankly, what I thought whenever I heard someone talk about the Trilateral Commission. But, when I posted the membership list, above, I did a Google search of "Trilateral Commission," and visited the organization's official website, and did a little internet research, and I'm convinced that the organization does exist, and it's members are ambitious and powerful people who give it immense power to influence governments, and the media, and big business, and to influence public opinion, and it is well within their ability to abuse their power. Every powerful person and organization in the world is subject to the extreme scrutiny of 60 Minutes and 20/20, and every newspaper writer who aspires to a Pulitzer, but you don't see investigative reports on the inner workings of the Trilateral Commission. Why?

Obviously there's a conspiracy between the Tri-lateral commission and the media to keep us in the dark. Hope the good folks over at Skull and Bones and the Knights Templar will soon root out this evil and expose it to the harsh light of public scrutiny! (g)
