I gotta honor a fellow AFOC. I think it was tjk or hellosailor-can't remember. One of 'em recommended using a heat gun to remove old varnish. I was a little sceptical, not so much with the suggestion, but with the idea that there was an actually easy way to do this job. I brought a heat gun home from work and, "wow" is that the ticket or what? Thanks to whichever glorious ass mentioned it, I'm in your debt.

"What the Hell's goin' on out there?"

Ok, I've often thought that I might have been born too late. I'd have liked to live in the age of sail. But, it now appears, I was born too soon. Just look at the news. I spent all my youth, and a good portion of my adulthood, in pursuit of that magic place that exists between a woman's legs. Don't bother me with any details relating to the fact that i ended up with that scary place that resides between her ears. All of that was a waste. If I'd have been born in the last twenty years, I could get all the sex i want from one of my teachers!

Now the serious part. As in Lombardi's words, "what the hell's goin' on out there?"
Last year or so we had the hot little blond in Florida who was doing one of her students. The kid was underage, and she got caught doing him repeatedly. They didn't send her to the Big House because "she was too pretty" and bad things could happen to her there. I remember thinking that that was an interesting angle on things, but I never did get the name of her lawyer. I definitely remember thinking, that, had it been a male teacher, with a female student, he'd be doing hard time.

So now we've got this young man, down in Georgia, who get's convicted for statutory rape by having oral sex with a 15 year old girl. He's 17. He get's ten years. No parole. I thought, well that's Georgia for ya. Then I thought, we got a President who does the same thing with girls not all that much older, and he doesn't think it's even sex. Now, I don't know where you all went to school, but I'm tellin' ya, Mrs Nagle would have never bought that line of malarkey. 'Course, it's kinda hard imagining Mrs Nagle makin' a man out of somebody either, even Mr. Nagle.

So now we got another one. This woman, married with two kids, is a teacher and she's doin' the captain of the football team. (Captains of sailboats just don't have the panache, apparently, to get you laid by your high school teacher.) She get's knocked up. Well, the state (i forget which) files like five felony counts against her and gets a conviction. She gets 3 days. The judge says that denying her her motherhood would be injurious to her two children and the new baby. Say what? That's like shooting your parents, and then throwing yourself on the mercy of the court, because you're an orphan!

Now, somethin' ain't right, here. I've been mostly payin' attention these last 50-odd years and i got most of the equality stuff down pretty good. I've even got a little bit of a handle on "no means no", although, when they said, "Don't", I was always hoping the next word would be "stop". And my class was the first one at a federal academy to have wimmin' in it. And, yeah, they got special treatment, but whatta ya gonna do? Send them to Africa on a ship, they get raped while checking cargo in the hold, whatta ya gonna tell the folks back home? "It's a nasty world", just isn't gonna cut it. So Johnny Midshipman goes to Africa and Janie Midshipman goes to Hawaii. Hey, it was their show-I was just passing through. The point being, that i understand that women have the right to equal opportunity to everything that men have, regardless of whether they can do the job or not. I got it. It's over. and I ain't fightin' it no 'mo. But what's this happy horseshit with three days served for criminal sexual conduct? That kid in Georgia is going to be a "sex offender" for the rest of his life. And, anybody with a computer and a phone line can find out where he lives, and, if they don't like where he's living, they can make his life a living hell. That is, if he ever get's out of prison. This woman, on the other hand, is getting out of jail after three days, because her kids have soccer practise and the LaLeche League is coming over for a magazine cover shoot and an article on how denying a newborn his breast-feeding constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. As a confirmed breast feeder, from a long line of breast feeders, I'm a little ambivalent about that one. But, as a legal defense? What are they teaching in law school? I didn't even know Arkansas HAD a law school. Or is this something you have to go to Harvard for, to appreciate the esthetics of it?

Now, all kidding aside, something isn't right here. Regardless of what i might have liked, and my successors are apparently doing, we can't have teachers doing the nasty with their students. Male or female. Sauce, goose, gander, and all that stuff. In the language of the day, you mean to tell me that this is emotionally healthy for young males, and they are not going to have "issues" over such things in later life? No wonder kids aren't learning anything in school anymore. They're apparently teaching the alphabet by bra sizes, and that's the explanation for the low literacy scores and high motor skills we find upon testing.

I blame the whole ethos of the 'sixties for this. And, you know something? All those old fuddy-duddy's, people like Lombardi, told us it would come to this.

The past 50 some odd years has been devoted to getting rid of taboo's, so as to not interfer with people doing whatever they want to. Is it merely coincidence that this also dovetails with the rise in the anti-religious movement?

Eliminate stigma, tear down the moral framework, and what do you get? Not sure? Just look around.

You....my poor Dear North Americans.....are without a doubt, Harvesting today the fruits of what you planted in the 70's 80's and 90's.....

too much liberalism, dope and too many people making ridiculous laws with Dollar as the objective....too much "political correctness" (or lack of thereoff), and fear to face your ghosts....

What are you expecting??? It's the tip of moral, racial and social degradation...

Same happened to every other Country or Civilisation, that once was a World rulling Empire...start with the Romans, pass the Portuguese and Spanish, even the British (althouh these never conquered nothing), and is now spread all over the land of Larry the Cable Guy....

'de Toqueville said it many years ago "... your Huns and Vandals shall come from within". Decline of any civilization begins with the descent into decadence, where pleasure becomes a higher priority than effort.

Many have been saying this for many years, but they are always branded as kooks, crackpots, or extremists, so as not to inconvienence those who choose to ignore what is happening. History Does repeat itself, when the lessons of the past are disregarded. Whereas the Romans had the Gladiators and Circus's, we have Brittney and Paris.

It's why the "liberal thinkers" find those such as the Fundamentalists so frightening. They have gradually thrown off the " shackles" of guilt and conscience, and don't want them put back on. One doesn't have to be religeous to understand the concept of "As ye sow, so shall ye reap".
