It may be of interest that Phyllis' last rant upon these briny pages involved her apparent unacceptability to the Austrailian immigration authorities. Somewhere a wombat sleeps and gently smiles.

This Place Is Really..... Really Getting Full Of Real Prime Time Asses Full Of Crap.....
not the ones that joke, but the real serious ones, the ones that have their intestines connected to their brains...you know...the ones with shitty ideas....
I Am Seriously Considering Stoping Posting, Writting, Photoshoping, Helping, Colaborating, post photos of sailing and my boat......And Even Promote My Small History Rich Country Here....
I'm tired of the crappy same old **** political discusions and their remarks, and now...even religion gets discussed here, and has more attention than halyard replacements, boats capsizing and other related sail stuff...
I swear, I am now counting.....if I get 3 more useless threads here, I will go on vacation from here....
THIS IS A SAIL SITE, NAMED SAILNET...WANT TO DISCUSS RELIGION GO TO: CHURCHNET, OR ISLAMNET, OR BUDANET, OR GETTHEFUCKOUTOFOURSITENET
WANT OT DISCUSS POLITICS AND GLOBALWARMING AND OTHER **** GO TO:
ILIKCKTHEPRESIDENTSBALLSNET, OR, ILOVECLINTONNET, OR EVEN MYASSISDAMNHOTDUETOGLOBALWARMINGNET
There....I made my peace....I will now resume my normal activities here.
For the record, I am a Catholic man, that practices the religion's costumes and acts, I just don't shove them on people..that is presuming on a frindship....I don't do that.

Giu..a newspaper has sections...sports, politics, religion, opinion etc.
Everything you are ranting about is pretty much on the off topic thread. Just stick to the "sports section" and put the idiots on IGNORE! (G)
P.S. Can I still send you PM's whe you IGNORE me??? (G)

Cam, I do agree with the Newspaper analogy.
However, when (contrary to its purpose) only 20% of the "saling newspaper" is sailing and the remaining 80% is advertisment, political campaign crap, religious brainwash and other insignificant crap, the newspaper loses interest.
What do un-interested readers do?? They buy another newspaper. (look at SAIL magazine, I was offered a 1 year subscription for $5.00!!! how desperate are they??? can't they see they dug their own grave with biased boat reviews, uninteresting articles about the menstrual cycle of the bath tub spider in Cancoon, written by friends of the editor and... 80% paid advertisment???)
I don't want to subscribe to another paper, I am just making my point about all the crap that has been going on, that has little to do with sailing...do a count on the threads...se what is moving...crap threads get 100's of posts, sailing threads gets forgotten.
Even I can't keep up with it anymore, and I have had my share of "off topic" subjects...I can't photoshop anymore, I lost my appetite for fun, colorfull remarks and other similiar crap...
why??? not because I am tired of sailnet, but because most of the threads that are rolling have nothing to do with sailing, they are political, religious, sports or stupid, and I stay out of those...meaning..I have nothing to talk about....

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

While I have nothing against anyone having an opinion that is not the same as mine, on any subject, when I post a response or opinion, I try to do so without rancor, ill-will, or pettiness. To me, everyone is entitled to see things however they choose, through whatever prisim they want to look through. I am though, taken aback by the virulence with which some choose to respond. In particular, the intolerence and inherent bigotry that is used to attack those who they consider to be on the side of intolerence and bigotry.
I enjoy a good, vigorous debate on most any topic that I'm conversant with. If for no other reason than that it makes me examine why I hold the opinion on it that I do. Of late though, it seems to have degenerated from civilized discourse, into some kind of verbal rugby scrum. Maybe I just expect too much out of people.

Alex,
Do as I do and, as Cam also advised, ignore the ******** threads and posters. If all you want is sailing stuff - I think it would be impossible to find a forum that dosen't digress - it's human nature to do so.
I don't adhere to this notion, since I think your input here is (usually) entertaining, but have you ever considered that some sailnet regulars may be offended by what you post?
