But that just not the American way to embrace technology. If the old stuff still works and still makes money then we have to keep using it and keep selling it until it doesn't. only THEN can we introduce the NEW stuff with is actually only new to us and has infact been introduced to the rest of the world 5 years ago

I'm so glad you posted your thoughts on that here. I look forward to the day that you realize that sails were great in their day and, since you never use your's anyway, it's time to move on. Once you've removed them and the now unneeded mast we'll look forward to reading your posts in a powerboat forum somewhere where, you'll no doubt still be known as the Dock Monitor.

The guy already owns the Loran set; he's not talking about buying one. It's much like your wife. She already has you. That hardly means she'd buy another you today. And, if she adopts your progressive views, she's likely to discard the you she's got for a more sophisticated model. I trust that this explanation has been beneficial to you. (vbg)

Sails??? I have inmast furling. It did not come with sails - only lines that dissapear into the mast. I never bothered to buy any either.
I have read your account of sailing. I like my cleats where they are.

You're right, CKDexterHavengreenman. That's how you end up in a big house you can barely afford, while the economy enters a recession, and have no nest egg in the bank to see you through. That's why you see old money driving old cars. (g)

The case can be made that it did as much as anything to encourage CapeCodPhyllis to decamp from these premises. Watching her rep status was far more fun than watching the stock market of late although they share similar trajectories.
